Start with the intended game and table
Pool, snooker, carom, pyramid and Heyball use different ball sets and nominal sizes. Record the discipline, table model, pocket and ball-return requirements, cue-ball type, set composition and packaging before choosing an inspection plan.
Use the relevant specification carefully
For equipment intended for WPA-sanctioned pool events, the current WPA recommended equipment specification is the appropriate public reference. A retail, club or other discipline order may use a different agreed specification, so do not claim tournament compliance without documentary evidence for that exact product.
Sample diameter and weight consistently
Use calibrated measuring equipment, a defined sample plan and a stable environment. Record each checked ball rather than reporting only an average; compare the cue ball and object balls with the approved set and the written tolerance supplied for the order.
Inspect finish, markings and set consistency
Check chips, cracks, flat spots, embedded contamination, polish, number or color clarity and obvious mismatch across the set. Rotate balls under consistent light and compare several cartons so one attractive presentation sample does not stand in for the shipment.
Run practical roll and packaging checks
Use a clean, level reference surface for controlled roll observation and record the method. Confirm the tray or case, ball count, cue balls, labels, lot or model reference, carton protection and replacement-ball availability before approving repeat stock.
Keep claims inside the evidence boundary
Supplier brochures and community reports can identify questions to test, but they do not prove a batch. Put material, size, tolerances, test method, inspection sample and correction process into the purchase order, then retain the signed report for that shipment.
What to include in your RFQ
For a comparable quotation, send the target billiard discipline or table model, destination country, expected order quantity, intended venue, required customization and preferred delivery window. Ask the supplier to separate the standard scope, optional items, spare parts, export packing and installation support.
