What should a pool-table light fixture RFQ include?

Send the table count and sizes, a dimensioned room layout, ceiling height, fixture position, destination voltage and frequency, control or dimming needs, camera use, mounting structure, delivery destination and local installation responsibility. Ask the supplier to return a fixture drawing, electrical data, packing details and the acceptance method with the quotation. A product photo alone cannot confirm table coverage or installation suitability.

Define the lighting result before choosing the fixture

Write a measurable playing-surface target and a grid-based acceptance test before selecting a fixture. The WPA equipment specification provides a competition reference for illumination, height and glare, while a club project must also follow its governing rules and local electrical requirements. Use the existing lighting specification guide to set measurable targets; use this RFQ checklist to compare supplier proposals against the same brief.

Map each fixture to the real table and ceiling layout

Provide the playing-surface size, external table footprint, spacing between tables, ceiling height, beams, ducts, sprinklers and service access. Reviewed player discussions about fixture height and rail shadows show why a nominal light size does not prove coverage. Require a reflected-ceiling or suspension drawing for every table type, then check cue clearance and player sightlines before approving production.

Record the complete electrical and control specification

State the destination voltage and frequency, connection method, driver location, control type, dimming protocol and whether video recording or live streaming makes visible flicker a concern. Ask which parts are included and which local installer supplies. Compliance documents must identify the actual quoted model and destination requirement; do not treat a generic factory certificate as proof for every fixture.

Approve a sample and test one installed position

For a new venue or volume order, approve a current sample or pilot installation. Record the fixture model, hanging height, control setting and measurement grid. Check the center, rails, corners and pocket areas, then view the fixture from normal shooting positions for glare and shadows. Photograph the accepted setup so the remaining tables can be installed against the same reference.

Specify packing, spares and receiving evidence

Ask for the packed unit dimensions, gross weight, diffuser protection, inner separation, carton or crate method and handling marks. Identify spare drivers or suspension parts only when included in the written order. At receiving, photograph package condition, labels and any impact before installation; connect any damage claim to carton numbers and the approved packing record.

Compare quotations line by line

Use one comparison sheet for fixture identity, quantity per table, dimensions, electrical input, driver and controls, suspension hardware, declared documents, packing, spares, freight, installation scope, acceptance test, price and lead time. Mark every missing item as unconfirmed. Sundays can quote the photographed fixture as a project reference, but current dimensions, availability, electrical configuration, MOQ and lead time require written confirmation for the order.

What to include in your RFQ

For a comparable quotation, send the target billiard discipline or table model, destination country, expected order quantity, intended venue, required customization and preferred delivery window. Ask the supplier to separate the standard scope, optional items, spare parts, export packing and installation support.

Buyer questions

How many light fixtures does one pool table need?

There is no universal count. It depends on fixture geometry, table size, mounting height, room surfaces and the required measurement result. Obtain a layout and test the proposed installation.

Can I order the photographed LED fixture in a fixed size?

The photographs establish the visible panel design only. Ask Sundays to confirm the current fixture dimensions, frame, driver, electrical input and supply status in the quotation.

Does the fixture include suspension hardware and installation?

Do not assume it does. List cables, brackets, ceiling anchors, wiring and local installation separately and record which party supplies each item.

What documents should an importer request?

Send the destination and applicable project requirements first. Request documents that identify the actual quoted model; availability and acceptability must be confirmed for that market.

Can the lights ship with pool tables and accessories?

A combined shipment can be planned after fixture quantity, electrical configuration, packing protection and container loading are confirmed in the written order.
